Helios in the myth I explained was the father of five daughters and one son. He was the sun god in the story so he went around giving light to all mortals. He was so bright that only gods could look at him. He is the god of the sun. Helios was born on the Greek island of Rhodes. His father was Hyperion and his mom was Theia. Helios's wife is Perse. Helios's children are Perse, Aeetes, Circe, Pasiphae, Phaethusa, Phatheon, and Lampeta. These children were not in the myth I explains but they played a major role in Helios life. The basic day for Helios; he wakes up and emerges from his under water kingdom and flies across the earth giving light to all mortals. When he returns his daughter takes to the four horses into their stables. Helios then eats dinner and goes to bed. His strengths are; powerful, bright, fiery, and tireless. His weaknesses; his fire can get so hot that it burns him. When the gods saw Helios they saw him as a handsome young man wearing a headdress. Helios has four trusty steeds that take lots of energy to hold on and are very strong. That is why The gods chose Helios as the sun god because he was very strong and was able to hold on to the reigns as he traveled around the globe. |
